How You Can Make An Impact
Bring opera to life for arts lovers across Washington and beyond! There are so many ways your gift can make a difference.
Support the Mainstage
Did you know that ticket sales cover less than half of what it takes to bring you Seattle Opera's extraordinary productions? We rely on donations from patrons like you to meet the full cost of presenting opera. When you contribute to the Annual Fund or make a Planned Gift, your donation allows us to stage opera of the highest quality that you and our audience have come to expect.

Promote Learning & Engagement
The heart of Seattle Opera lies in our community, and we are dedicated to bringing opera to all through creative, experiential programming. Thanks to your generosity, Seattle Opera's learning and engagement programs continue to expand, reaching over 65,000 lives outside of McCaw Hall. Seattle Opera's world premiere commission, An American Dream, is a wonderful example of community-driven experiences created to culturally enrich the Pacific Northwest region. Your gifts help provide access to arts for all, including neighborhood and school programs in high poverty areas for arts lovers of all ages.

Support our New Civic Home
Seattle Opera at the Center is our project to build a new facility adjacent to Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, on the site of Mercer Arena. It will do so much more than replace our current operational home in South Lake Union—it will revitalize Seattle Center’s Theatre District and provide dedicated space for Education and Community Engagement to connect with you in more ways than ever before! Join us in this momentous project to ensure a bright future for Seattle Opera.

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (PATH) was signed into law by President Obama on December 18, 2015, permanently extending the IRA charitable rollover.
Individuals may begin taking distributions from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) as early as age 59½, but are required to begin taking them at age 70½. Normally, these distributions are subject to income taxes. The IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 to Seattle Opera and other charitable organizations directly from their IRA, without treating the distribution as taxable income. In order to qualify, contributions must go directly to a public charity and be made from traditional IRAs or Roth IRAs.
